Some households use enough electricity that a standard four-panel-and-a-battery package barely dents the bill. This Halkyn property is one of them - so we designed something with real capacity behind it.
High on the Flintshire hillside, this property runs the kind of electrical load that makes a typical starter solar package pointless: heavy daytime use, heavy evening use, and no mains gas to fall back on. The owners did not want a gesture - they wanted energy independence that shows up on the bill.
In November 2025 we fitted one of our larger domestic systems: a 15kW array of 34 Jinko Tiger Neo panels split across two roof aspects, feeding a 12kW Sigenergy SigenStor hybrid inverter and 27kWh of battery storage across three SigenStoBAT 10.0 modules.
A system this size changes the relationship a household has with its energy supplier: grid electricity becomes the backup, not the default.
The array generates strongly through the day, the batteries carry that power through the evening and overnight, and the household draws from the grid only when it genuinely needs to. For a rural property, the stored power is also a buffer against the supply interruptions that come with life at the end of a long line.
This is what solar looks like when it is engineered around consumption data rather than sold out of a catalogue - and it is exactly the kind of design work a survey is for.
Most solar disappointment starts with an undersized system: a package that looked cheap, generated less than the household used, and left the buyer wondering what the fuss was about. The fix is boring but reliable - size the system to the usage.
Electric heating, EVs, home offices, pools or workshops all change the maths. A bigger, properly designed array pays back on its own terms.
No mains gas and a long grid connection make self-generation and storage worth more to you than to almost anyone else.
Modular inverters and batteries mean you can start with what you need now and add capacity later without starting again.
We will always give you honest, ranged numbers based on your actual usage - not brochure figures. If a smaller system is genuinely the right call, we will say so.
We visit, look at your roof, your usage and your meter, and listen to what you actually want to achieve.
A clear, itemised quote with honest payback estimates. No pressure, no follow-up calls every other day.
Our own team fits the system, planned around your schedule, with tidy cabling and proper making-good.
We commission everything, show you the app and the numbers, and stay on the end of the phone afterwards.
