Neston sits just across the Dee from our Deeside base, and this install shows a trick worth knowing: when one roof is not enough, use two.

01Two roofs, one system

A single roof aspect catches its best sun for a few hours a day. This Neston home had a second option - a garden outbuilding with clean, unshaded roof space - so we designed the 7kW array across both. The result is a generation curve that is flatter and longer: useful power from earlier in the morning until later in the day, not just a lunchtime spike.

It is the kind of design decision a proper survey uncovers and a one-size package never will.

02What we fitted

  • 7kW of solar PV split across the main roof and the garden outbuilding
  • A FoxESS hybrid inverter, wall-mounted in the garage with tidy cable runs
  • A FoxESS battery cube storing the surplus for evenings and cloudy spells

Splitting the array across two roofs catches useful sun for more of the day - a longer, flatter generation curve instead of a lunchtime spike.

03The result

Most of what this house runs on now comes from its own roofs. The battery holds the daytime surplus for the evening, and every energy price announcement stings a little less. The equipment lives in the garage, the panels are all-black and low-profile, and the whole system just quietly gets on with it.

We install across the Wirral regularly - from Neston and Heswall to Birkenhead - and the ferry-close proximity to our Deeside base means surveys and aftercare visits are easy to arrange.

What this means for you

If your first thought was “my roof is too small” or “my roof faces the wrong way”, this project is the answer. Garages, outbuildings, extensions and even ground mounts can all carry panels - the design just needs someone to look properly.

Awkward roofs

East-west splits, dormers, outbuildings - there is usually more usable space than you think once someone surveys it properly.

Wirral homeowners

We cover the whole peninsula from Deeside. Local enough for quick surveys and aftercare, without the local-cowboy risk.

Evening-heavy homes

If your usage peaks after dark, storage is what makes solar pay. The battery shifts your free daytime power to when you need it.

We will always give you honest, ranged numbers based on your actual usage - not brochure figures. If the payback does not stack up for your home, we will tell you that too.

How it works when you get in touch

01Free survey

We visit, look at your roof, your usage and your meter, and listen to what you actually want to achieve.

02Fixed quote

A clear, itemised quote with honest payback estimates. No pressure, no follow-up calls every other day.

03Installation

Our own team fits the system, planned around your schedule, with tidy cabling and proper making-good.

04Handover & aftercare

We commission everything, show you the app and the numbers, and stay on the end of the phone afterwards.

Think your roof will not work? Let us look.
